    Default Baby squirrel

There are a lot of them in the oak tree in my front yard, but they won't come near anyone. This crazy little guy came right up to me and let me pet him and seemed to actually like it. I gave him some apple and one of Peanut's nutriberries. I've never had a wild squirrel let me pet it before. I know I shouldn't feed or touch wildlife, but these squirrels kinda root through people's garbage cans and stuff so I think they're used to it.

Is it possible that you could get a picture so we could help determine age? An adult should never approach a human unless it has been raised by humans. A baby in the need of help would definitely approach a human for help.

I totally agree with Tuff. You need to determine the age of the squirrel. It is very common for babies that are in need to approach humans. It is quite common to hear, “a baby squirrel just crawled up my leg.” In those cases the baby needs help. Just curious, is this a red squirrel.
