    Default Fly eggs on legs

Hey there! I found a baby squirrel yesterday and upon doing research found this forum board (thankfully). When inspecting the little guy I saw many fly eggs on his legs (there did not appear to be any live maggots). I gave him a bath with water and Dawn and used a comb and scissors to remove the eggs. Needless to say I was pretty grossed out, but motivated to get every last one out. I've rechecked him 5 times now and do not see any eggs. If for some reason one was left behind would that be enough to turn into a maggot? Have any of you successfully got rid of all eggs on your first attempt?

Yes, they are pretty gross. Actually the ones that you can see aren’t really the dangerous ones.
The ones you can’t see are the deadly ones. The eggs can be laid in any oriface like the ears, nose and rectum. The only way to insure that they are all gone is to use CapStar. You can get it at pet retailers
like PetSmart or Tractor Supply. It’s a bit pricey. If you have a vet you might be able to buy a single pill.
It can be given orally and also used as a wash. It kills eggs and maggots rapidly.

You might be able to buy a generic form. The generic name is nitenpyram.

Thank you for the quick reply! I will get some just to be on the safe side.

I've used Capstar for my old cats and it worked great orally. For this baby squirrel, do I just grind up the pill and mix it into the formula? Would it be the whole pill?
