    Default Pinky

I have a pinky that was found and it has a couple little punctures on its head that looks like maybe the mom was trying to pick it up. They don’t look very deep but I am wondering if it would be advised to give enrofloxacin (a rehabber recommended this) and if so what the dose would be. I have raised a lot of babies but never a pinky so if anyone has advise I’ll take it. Do they need to be fed through the night.

You might have seen the Baby Squirrel Care guide from Henry’s Healthy Pets. It has a lot of helpful information.
    https://www.henryspets.com/1-basic-setup/

If these puncture are tiny and appear superficial I would not treat unless you think a cat caused them. If they are from a cat, I would treat. If not I wouldn’t treat because it’s pretty common for baby squirrels to have scratches and superficial wounds from falling out of trees.

Unfortunately, yes, you will need to feed through the night. Pinkies are fed about every 2-3 hrs. Do you have a weight? Weight determines when they can go through the night without feeding.

Here is a guide for raising pinkies. It says feed at least every 3-3.5 hrs. It was written by the owner/admin of this board. She has raised many pinkies.

    You've gotten excellent advice.
One thing I would like to add.
In the above mentioned document, Fox Valley 32/40
    is mentioned.
We no longer recommend feeding the formula as many
deaths have been attributed to babies not being able to
digest it. It sits like cement in their gut.
Get the powdered puppy Esbilac pictured below.
Mix it with HOT water, and let it sit for 4-6 hours
    in the refrig, stirring occassionally.
Good luck with this little one.

Also I can only get her to eat a couple of drops of formula each feeding. Is there anything else I can do?

I'm not sure, she had blood in her mouth from the fall when I got her and the person who had her before me tried to feed her so she could have. The batyril I have is 100mg/ml

I have a little pinky now that I'm a bit worried about pneumonia with. I only hear a slight clicking right after he eats but no other time. Should I be concerned? I can't tell if it's actually a clicking from breathing or if he's making it with his mouth.

If it is AP they will have a persistent click when they breath. Loss of appetite and lethargy are also signs of AP.

Thats what I was hearing and the xray was clear of pneumonia so it might just be something they do.

It turns out I am treating her for pneumonia, she isnt gaining weight and I still hear the clicking sound, she gets cold very quickly and not eating great so I decided to treat her.
