Default Egg Replacement in Homemade Henry's Block

I wanted to replace egg with something vegetarian/Vegan in the home made Henry's Block.

Is Egg used as a Binding agent in the recipe?
Can I use something else like a 1/4 cup mashed ripe banana? Has anyone tried it?

My thinking is that egg is used as a binding agent but also provides nutrients, like protein, that banana wouldn’t. Squirrels are omnivores not herbivores, so protein is a necessary component of their diet. A squirrel in the wild will eat bird eggs, worms, bugs and even snakes, if given the opportunity.

The home made block would have Henry's Protein powder, so would not that be sufficient for the protein?

That’s a good point. I will pose the question to Leigh the owner of Henry’s and see what she says and then post it here.

I checked with someone at Henrys and the egg is basically a binder so there should no problem substituting something else as long as you’re adding Henry’s vitamins and protein powder.

Henry's protein powder is a mixture of animal and plant sourced protein isolates.
