11 week Squirrel not eating upright

I rescued two 4 week old squirrels (one male and one female). They have been on Fox Valley formula and are eating veggies/fruit, protein blocks and still taking formula. She holds her food in her hands and sits upright when eating blocks and food. He won't sit upright, he bends over and eats it, not picking it up. He still drinks way more formula than she does. He seems perfectly active and healthy. Is this normal?

Can you post a picture of both of them? How long ago did you rescue them?

Will he sit upright when he ISN'T eating something?

He goes on top of his cube (that he sleeps in) and sits. He is super active and all over the cage jumping, climbing but just won't sit up to eat.

How old are they now? I have had some that take a week or two (after opening eyes) to get the balance of sitting up while eating.
If he is climbing and running around okay.. check his paws (cuts, broken toes, swelling, etc). It may just be a habit he has picked up, or it may be a problem holding things in his hands.
Try handing him small bits of food and see if he can grab and hold them.
You may also want to check his teeth and their alignment... by holding his mouth open with a wooden spoon handle or chopstick.
If anything looks odd, compare it to his sister.

Silly me.. totally missed the title was '11 week old squirrel'. Well, that answers my question of how old.
I would suspect a problem with teeth.
