Default Bones to gnaw on... what to give and what to avoid?

Sorry if there's already a thread on this! I did look, didn't see anything.

Anyways, read some interesting articles about squirrels eating bones... whether its deer antlers or human bones. Just wondering if there are certain types of bones you should NOT give a squirrel? Like I know chicken bones are bad for dogs because of the splintering, etc..

Thanks in advance for the knowledge!

We get small Antlers from chewy.com . Small enough for squirrel to hold like a branch. Other things are toys made out of tree wood. Dragon wood is a good hard wood to make toys. Squirrels love to play with toilet paper or paper towel rolls of cardboard but the antlers and sticks keep teeth shaved down as they would in the wild.

I have had great luck with the large marrow bones for dogs that you find in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. Or ask the butcher for them. I let my dog have them for awhile and eat the marrow out and then once they dry out I secure them on stumpy tree limbs or wedge them vertically in between the tree trunk and the feeding station on the oak tree. I have heard several wilds knawing on them. They knaw on the end and shave off the bone and eat it.

I haven’t had a single squirrel chew on an antler, though.
