The Pinkie that I posted about yesterday was never reunited with its mom. The person tri d very hard but night came and she turned it over to my tech who already has experience, and already some pinkies in her care . It has a very minor scratch ; see first picture:
So, when the tech collected this baby, she was presented with a second one... The cat that apparently hurt the first one, was allowed back outside (??!!??) and nearly killed a SECOND baby . See pics:
My tech kept both on electrolyte solutions during the night, but said the second baby is very difficult to feed; barely taking anything. What do we need to do from here? Redwuff mentioned Clavamox, so I will post the weights as soon as get my tiny scale
( sending husband now) down there , or if we can just dose it regardless of grams , what amount can we start immediately? Can something this tiny take antibiotics? And does it need pain medicine?
Pinkies are still very new to my helper and I, but we are willing to do best can. Our local ( “real”) rehabber gets so flooded . I honestly hate to turn these over if she’s as crazy busy as I figure already is .
