He/she is eliminating normally and lifting his or her head to take fluids orally at this point and can use his/her front legs to clean it's face but when trying to walk, both front legs go limp at the shoulders. Eyes are now bright, alert and clear during his/her more "alert" periods. Some pretty intense swelling on one side of the face at least but it has not been getting worse and does noticeably respond to ibuprofen.
I have prednisone on hand but would need the dose if that would help - which i imagine it would?
I also have the dumbest question ever - would this be something that warrants a round of antibiotics?
Thanks in advance!
Prednisone would definitely be better and has proven to render good results especially with car struck injuries.
Prednisone and Gabapinten together has also shown to be an excellent combination toward these types of injury.
However, you can't give Pred and Ib together and would need to stop the Ib and wait 24 hours before starting
the prednisone.
Asking about ab's is not a dumb question at all but unless there is a noted infection concern I don't personally see
where an added Ab would be necessary.
