Taking down a good sized maple today and figured the buds could be a nice snack. So far I've collected a decent boxful, but there is much, much more coming down soon. I'd be more than happy to share; no way my boys will get through this all!

Maple buds are a very nutritious natural food source for tree squirrels; at bud break free calcium is at its highest, as are other nutrients.

Wish I was closer! We don’t have many maple trees around here. The squirrels here may not know what to do with them....at first.

I received a box of these buds, thank you seven! Unfortunately, my Florida squirrels don’t realize they’re a “delicacy”. They won’t touch them!
