    Default Possible mbd

I acquired 3 squirrels a few months ago. 2 died about 4 weeks ago the last one is showing symptoms of mbd. We have given the first dose of tums. If there is anything else I should do please let me know! Thanks

Below is the link to the MBD Treatment thread... follow those directions closely. MBD takes a long time to develop and a long time to reverse, thought they often start showing signs of improvement quickly (especially younger squirrels).

    https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/...dated-3-31-09)

Providing a source of heat (warm) is good sing MBD can be painful. Keep her in a small cage with minimal height to decrease risk of fall... MBD causes brittle bones and can break easily from a fall.

The next steps are to address her diet.. that should start as soon as she is stabilized.

    What a little cutie!

He is still moble so hopefully the MBD protocol and a good diet will heal him.

Little Sophie is responding really well to the MBD treatment. Here are the videos that I have taken over the past week. Sweet Sophie will be going home on Sunday.

I watched everyone of them. She really is precious and you've done a great job with her. Sophie was so blessed to come to you for intervention at a critical time. Watching her eat her healthy food eagerly just melted my heart.

I can tell that she really loves you and I know that you will miss her.

You got little Sophie turned around. Now, it will take many months of strict, good diet and MBD protocol to fully heal her bones and allow her to fully recover. She looks so happy and must feel so much better!

It will be tough letting her go, but her family loves her. I printed out the healthy diet, and MBD protocol forher mom.
Her family lives less than 10 minutes from me, and her mom says I have visitation rights.

    Sophie looks wonderful.
I'm in close contact with her mom and visit them from time to time. She still remembers us (my daughter went with me twice and my husband once).
I didn't forget my phone on today's visit and took this video.

I don't think there is lol.
It looks like Sophie and Tiger will be RC neighbors in the future.
I think Tiger is just a little bit younger than Sophie.

Sophie and little Tiger both are very blessed to have been in your care. Now they both will have a chance to enjoy their squirrelly lives in the trees when the time comes.
