I haven’t fostered and released squirrels in a few years so I am relearning everything right now. I currently have 4 orphaned gray squirrels in my care. They’re about 4 1/2 weeks old (opened their eyes a few days ago). I know it’s a common problem for them to mistake penises for nipples and 2 of my boys have some mild injuries from their siblings. I know now that they’re mobile and able to lick and suckle that they can’t have neosporin but I was wondering if there was anything I could do or give them topically that would be safe or if I should just leave it alone. I’ve been soaking them to help remove the scabs when they come up and they’re still urinating normally but I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to get them all healed up and without any pain.
Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!
Kristyn
