Decorating with Christmas greens?

I would like to decorate with fresh greens in my home. Are pine/ cedar/fir/ spruce safe for squirrels?

In my yard and all throughout my neighborhood we have fir, pine and spruce trees and the outdoor squirrels build many nests in those types of trees (they actually seem to prefer the evergreens better than the oak and maple type trees due to the coverage the evergreens provide all year long) so I assume those tree greens are safe for indoors. I am not sure about cedar - I have used cedar for nest boxes for years, many years ago, and never had any issues. Hopefully someone else will also have some thoughts on your question.
