Nose issues—still

Hello all,
Little girl’s nose is better, big horny scab came off. BUT, small pustules still form and hair has been slow to return. She’ll be two weeks on oral ABs on Wednesday and is still getting the Betadine wash. Any idea what this could be? Still has good appetite and digestion.

Also, concerned her eyes have not opened yet. Although I think maybe she was younger when I found her than I first assumed. Any thoughts on that? I know there’s nothing I can do about it, just wondering.

No, but I’ll look into it. She’s on cephalexin which I read is used for skin infections. It definitely helped but know she can’t stay indefinitely on ABs. Someone had suggested Clindamycin but I seemed to have success with the cephalexin up to a point. Good news on the eyes, I never had one nearly this young—1-2 week’s old—so it all seems to be taking a while, I found her 4 weeks ago yesterday.

I would strongly suggest you add a second antibiotic. This needs to resolve soon. I would add Clavamox or Clindamycin. I really worry about infections on the nose. They can go bad fast. Do you have either of these antibiotics? It seems like the Cephalexin is helping but not completing the job.
