I was thinking a banana slice might help a bit because I know there is electrolytic imbalance after shock. I figured it was unlikely that he could drink from a bowl, and bananas have potassium and some other minerals plus some moisture. Potassium is an electrolyte. Another thing you could do if you have a dropper or oral syringe is make some ORS according to the following recipe
1 Quart or Liter of drinking or boiled Water
5 cupfuls (each cup about 200 ml.)
    Quarter (1/4) teaspoon of Salt
Quarter (1/4) teaspoon Baking Soda (bicarbonate of soda).
Two (2) tablespoons of Sugar or Honey

You could dissolve a tiny dose of aspirin in it and give that orally with a dropper, but for an animal this size the dose would be around 10 mg and then repeat every 3 hours. That's a very small amount. You should be careful about giving too much as rodents respond more strongly to NSAIDs like aspirin than we do, and they can have a blood thinning effect for them which is dangerous in too high doses.

Give it warm and be gentle. You're helping just by giving him a quiet and peaceful place.

No (more) aspirin! Infant liquid ibuprofen is what you need.
Any chance for antibiotics? Predisone is highly recommended for paralysis.
Shock causes low blood sugar, rubbing molasses (best) or another
syrup sweetener, honey etc. on his gums will raise it's blood sugar.

Home made recipe for hydration, keeping hydrated is very important.
    Re-hydration fluid:
    1 teaspoon salt
    3 Tablespoons sugar
    1 quart water.

Also attaching link to squirrel care. Go to this link this is a HUGE help.
It's 6 pages long with the next button on the top right corner.

    Just to clarify things:
Ibuprofen is another NSAID, and rodents are very sensitive to them, as I mentioned. Stepnstone did not include dosing info for ibuprofen, but you must be extremely careful to give an appropriate dose for the animal's size, like I posted before. They can thin blood and increase bleeding if too much is given.

The recipe that was posted is for the same purpose as the one I posted before. It's an ORS.

Prednisone is a steroid. Of course you won't have access to that, but hopefully a wildlife rehabber can be found who is near to you and can help with meds like that.

Since all medicatios are dosed by weight, Stepnstone did not have a weight to give a proper dose.

I sent Ibuprofen dosing instructions or 400gm and 450gm squirrel via PM. If you can weigh him all the better.

If you can find any of these steroids Prednisone, Prednisolone or Dexamethasone that is his best chance for recovery.

Here the thing though: You cannot give Ibuprofen and these meds together... you have to wait 24 hours after the last dose of Ibuprofen before the first dose of steroids.

So please exhaust your contacts / efforts to fins steroids before starting the ibuprofen.
The ibuprofen dose have some anti-inflammatory properties so if you cannot locate any steroids this could help him.

These steroid meds require a prescription before you can complete your order.

Ask around to family and friends to see if they have any of these medications by chance. If not, then you can start the ibuprofen.

You would be giving the steroid or the ibuprofen, but not both together at the same time.

Yes, if you found someone who will sell it privately then I think you should get it. You are really putting your heart into this. Bless you for that. Make sure you get the dose size of that tablet because it will be needed to figure out what the right amount is for the squirrel. Adult squirrels weigh about a pound, so the dose has to be scaled way down from the dose that a dog or human would get.

A rehabber from the list that was posted in reddit before is likely to have better access to meds. Have you tried to reach anyone?
