Try calling these people first anonymously to see what they can do. You might ask for reassurance that they will not euthanize and care for the squirrel adequately. I see pictures of squirrels on their website which is reassuring.

How is she doing?
I know an animal lover in Minnesora who used to live near me in florida. She's never cared for a squirrel but I can reach out to her as a last resort and see if she might be interested. Since it's NR it wouldn't be an issue to socialize with her cats I assume as long as they wouldn't injure it? She has a heart of gold and is an RN so has basic knowledge of illness, disease and meds and would be a perfect candidate with the guidance of this board imo.
