Red face Flying squirrel came into our home thru cat door

It ran in thru our cat door as we sat watching tv at night. Now will not leave the tiny box we have it in so we now cleaned up an old aquarium and it is very happy in there.....not scared of us at all. Is this common? We live on 4.09 acres of oak trees surrounded by deer leases for miles.

Flying squirrels are nocturnal, so she will want to hide for sure while the sun is up. Can you post a pic with something next to her (like a soda can) that we can compare it to? If this is a baby, it will need to go to a wildlife rehabilitator until it can be on its own. If it's merely a misdirected teenager or adult, you can probably let her go free tonight around 10-11pm. Your place sounds like a squirrel paradise!
