Hi, everyone, I just wanted to share with you how well Jacob is doing. It’s been a little over a year and he is able to run and play almost like a normal squirrel. He will never be able to climb, because his hands and legs were so terribly hurt by a predator when he was a baby, but he doesn’t seem to notice. He can scurry and jump and roll around.
When his doctor said that Jacob wouldn’t notice his disability, I didn’t believe him, but Jacob is a squirrel so focused on what he can do that he doesn’t seem to notice what he can’t do. He’ll be on arthritis formula and gabapentin for his pain for the rest of his life but he takes his medicine everyday and it really helps him.
Thanks, again everyone who got me in contact with the awesome wildlife rehabilitator, because Jacob would not have made such a recovery without her and everyone’s help.
Kevin
