Default 5 or 6 week old baby squirrel

Cat bought in a baby squirrel yesterday. Vet gave me medicine
And said give 0.1cc every 12 hours. We did get the Esbilac powered
Puppy formula. She loved it. Doesn’t seem to be dehydrated, but does
Have fleas. I gave her a small piece of a strawberry 🍓. She had no interest
Until I put it up her lip. She went crazy sucking it. How much formula and how
Often should we give it to her?

Feeding is according to weight... if you have a kitchen scale, they are perfect for weighing baby squirrels. You want the scale set on grams. They should get between 5% - 7% of their body weight per feeding... so for example, a 100gram squirrel would get 5ml - 7ml per feeding. I am attaching a cheat sheet.

Food.. the first solid introduced should be a high quality rodent block... and nothing else (like strawberries) until they are eating the block well. Most of us prefer the supplement block from Henry's (they get 1 -2 a day) but here are "extruded" commercial block like Mazuri and Teklad (these would need to be about 80% of their diet after then stop taking formula, unlike the Henry's. If you order Henry's, get the picky block and not the hi-protein. Giving her things like berries now is like feeding a toddler McD's... you need to start with the healthy food first.

At 5 - 6 weeks she should be eating every 4 - 5 hours. If you post her pic (and weight) we can help confirm age if you'd like.

A warm bath with a mild liquid soap will get rid of the fleas, just keep her warm afterwards.

At 5-6 weeks she should be on formula for another 5+ weeks. Let her wean herself when she’s ready.

    Feed every 3-4 hrs.

You might already know this, but make sure you have a non shut off heating pad under 1/2 of the bin shes in. This allows her to get off the heat if she gets too hot.

I did the heating pad like you posted last night. Don’t know how to post her picture.

I believe she is 6 weeks going on 7. Her tail is
starting to curl and she’s trying to sit up like
squirrels 🐿 do. Has her bottom teeth and
you can see the top one is out some.

Still can’t figure how to post a picture.
