Default Removing scented wax cubes from fur

Norman, a juvenile grey male, somehow managed to tip the scented wax cube burner over this morning and coated his tail and back. Luckily his skin wasnt burned, unluckily its a soft wax with fragrance and dyes. I used a hair dryer on low to remove the bulk of the wax then massaged coconut oil into his fur to remove the rest, but now I have a traumatized, scarred, fidgety af squirrel that slips out of my hands like a wet bar of soap. Any recommendations on how to get the coconut oil out of greased up, highly paranoid, squirmy ball of knives?

NOT funny, so why am I rolling in the floor here?

You can give him a bath with Dawn dishwashing soap but that might be dangerous?
I bathed a cat ONCE. I still bear the scars. It looks like I had bypass surgery and I didn't!

I agree with the dawn bath, but may be give him 24 hours to forget his trauma!

Is there anyone you can't stand who is dumb enough to do it for you?

If he will let you, you can get a LOT of the oil off his coat with paper towels, particularly if you have some of the cheaper ones that are sort of rough textured. If you can absorb the majority, you can just leave him greasy - it will resolve itself as he grooms and it won't hurt him. He will probably have beautiful skin and fur when it is all done!

If you can trim the squirrels nail tips beforehand that is best. You can only trim the white tips or you will cut the quick and cause them to bleed. I use a very sharp tiny cuticle nipper. Without the sharp tips all you will need to worry about is the teeth

This how I always bathed cats (scary!)

One tub with warm water and a couple of drops of dawn, next tub water, then pile of towels.

Grab hold, (we would scruff a cat), hurry and wash in the dawn water, dunk body in rinse, massaging soap out of fur, bundle in a towel to absorb water, then another, then another, then let go and run.
