Default Is amoxicillin with clav safe for Grey's?

I have a 5 week old Grey named Lilo who choked on her formula yesterday. She's a very active eater which led her to aspirate. She's not showing any signs or symptoms but I'm terrified nonetheless. I tried the miracle nipples but she would aspirate on them. I feed with an o ring syringe and she normally does wonderful on that. I feed her 1 part Esbilac with 2 parts water and 1/4 heavy whipping cream. She's thriving this far and I'm hoping nothing will come of this but just in case I need to know if Amoxicillin with Clav is safe to use for her in case of pneumonia. I can't figure out how to upload a picture of her.

Thank you so much. Let me weigh her Tonight and I'll get back for dosing. I appreciate it so much. She's doing great today so hopefully nothing will come of it

We will also need the size of the pill in milligrams - in this case it is usually 2 different numbers - "123/456"

Ok so Lilo weighs 5.5 ounces. The amoxicillin Clav that I have is a tablet. 875-125 mg could you help with dosage

I will dose this for you, give me a few minutes to type up,
and I will send the info in a pm.
This would be for a 155 gram squirrel.
By chance, and just to double check, does your scale switch over
    to grams?

It doesn't. It's an older non digital scale. I'm sorry. But someone else commented her weight in grams for me on here

Dosing sent for 155 gram squirrel.
The dosing for a 155 gram squirrel actually came out to 0.0496 so I rounded up to 0.05
For a 156 gram squirrel the dosing came out to 0.04992 which would
also be rounded up to 0.05, so ALL IS GOOD!

She is adorable - and she is just going to become more and more enthusiastic while feeding. You will need to change the way you hold the syringe because you will need to hold it BACK to prevent them from sucking it dry in 2 seconds.

Some people freak out when I suggest this but it is absolutely the BEST way to avoid aspiration pneumonia from forming when they aspirate: You are already holding them - drop the syringe, hold the baby nose DOWN and tail up above your head and give his nose a gentle suck with your own mouth (the part many flinch at). You can do it IMMEDIATELY before the fluid even has a chance to infiltrate the lungs, and unlike the bulb sucker things they make for babies, you can FEEL how hard you are sucking so you don't injure this little thing that is way more fragile than a human infant. I would rather spit out a little bit of baby squirrel snot now and then than try to deal with the effects later. And the older they get the more insane they get on the whole subject of formula.

Yes!! I had four babies who all had my mouth on their noses at one point or another. "Gross" doesn't hold a candle to the stress of a sick baby. I'll take "gross" any day of the week.

I hold the syringe barrel with my palm and fingers, thumb out and use my thumb to hold the plunger back. Sometimes they just suck so hard they suck the barrel empty and the plunger is still pulled back, but it's what works best for me.
