    My buddy....
I wonder if the DUDE makes a little noise --in the middle of the night-- to make sure that we keep bringing him to our bedroom, each night, to sleep close to us...??
he is a sly little fox. Ha!

Part of this post was on "Meet the Costa Rican Cruiser" earlier today.......

Dude was not feeling well this morn/today. He didn't seem very good yesterday and is worse today. Didn't
want to eat. I gave him a half dose of Tram this morn as he appeared to be in pain ...OR the infection is not responding
    well to the Doxy and is making him feel worse. { ? }

Sounding VERY full of mucus this morn and afternoon.... there was some dried in his nest box this morning... bummer... but,
I got a tiny bit just a short time ago. I did steam him early afternoon to try to loosen it up
in his sinus, for his sake and hopefully more will come out. Hoping to be able to get a culture.
Stosh will go to Dra. Jessica, Vet, tomorrow and get a new Prescription for both bacteria and fungus.

Didn't get any more mucus out... DARN.

He has been acting like his 'bottom' or perhaps his 'testicles' are bothering him... been wondering for awhile
if it is the "acid" in his urine which he always seems to drag himself in....
he looked miserable {in so many ways} this afternoon so I set up a "washing station" in the kitchen. Wash
basin with warm soapy water.... large rinse basin with clear warm water.... and a large plastic jug of water for
further rinsing. I held Dude, dipped his bottom half in the warm soapy water and Stosh scrubbed.....
lots of dipping into the clean water and then Stosh gently but quickly poured the water from the jug on to
Dude's bottom half and rubbed and rinsed. Then to SQUEEZE Dude out..... and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS
of paper towels later we had a clean DuddaleeDude.

He spent a good deal of time in playroom one where it is nice and warm/hot.... grooming himself with Stosh
looking on keeping an eye on him.
Once Dude felt he was groomed and dried enough he proceeded to devour an Icaco. He was then ready
to come into the living room - by this time Stosh was napping - and Dude was ready to head into the blankie
at the window. He was in much better spirits than earlier in the day and at present is sleeping quietly.

The last two nights Dude slept in the living room. Tonight he will once again be in our bedroom.

Hopeful you will get some more options from the vet visit. Just take things one moment at a time. Embrace the good days; praying for many future miles, for your Dude to cruise at top speed

Well, can you believe THIS ! ?
We finally got a good sample from our little Dude, to take to the Lab here in Coco. Stosh tells them he needs both bacterial and fungal... they can do the fungal but there are no resources in ALL OF CENTRAL AMERICA to do a Bacterial Culture. WHAT ! ? ! ? ! ?

So what are Dr's and Hospitals doing.......? Are people and animals going to die because of this lack? I was originally told over a week back they could not do it.....and to check back in a week.... and now still ? !

I plan to ask our Vet friend and if possible our regular Dr. IF this is correct OR are there some places that are still doing the necessary test.

I am soooo Frustrated and Angry and feeling impotent ! !

My poor little Cruiser...is not a Happy Camper. He is uncomfortable and restless. WE put some drops in his nose. First time in a long while. I hope it gives him some little relief. He is such a blessing to have in the house. My wish for him--HAPPIER days.

Forgive my ignorance; still fairly new here, and not entire familiar with little Cruiser’s story

But gathering from what I’ve read, he does ( ?) have the diagnosis of the Odontoma disease? And there’s just a lack ( sounds like of a lot of things ) of any veterinary surgeons in the area who are comfortable with this surgery?

If things became extremely dire, could a vet you trust the most, perhaps study, or be guided by a consult with the Dr. Emerson so many love?

Or.... a long shot , but why not...

Can a squirrel be licensed as a therapy animal ( mine sure the heck are , papers or not!), and the two of you fly back to Fla for her help?? Heard a story about a guy who was permitted to fly with his “Therapy Turkey” ( seriously! Diaper and all, walking aisle of plane on leash)

Just grasping for anything, sounds like he needs surgery (?)

Most likely Dude's "O" is too advanced........ never got x-rays due to there not being any availability near us nor a vet with the means who would co-operate.
The diagnosis is from "ALL" Dude's symptoms over the years starting at birth with a smashed
mouth and malocclusion when his incisors finally emerged as well as repeated tooth trimming for the past 5 { ? } years.

The regular Vets have no knowledge concerning 'wildlife' and the few wildlife vets would not
waste their time even if they were able or allowed.
Law was passed a few years back making it illegal for common people to own, have, help, or generally have in their possession any wild animals with stringent fines and penalties. Unless an animal can be Rehabilitated and returned to the wild they will be euthanized.... some exceptions are made for endangered etc species as they are kept for 'viewing' by the public as most Rehab
facilities also operate by keeping those exceptions and people either pay an admittance fee or give a donation.

So, even while asking for local help we have to be super cautious.
Thank you so much for caring enough to ask. We wish we could have had 'surgery' for
Dude....... always had hope. Really feel it is too late for that, and even if there was the
possibility we can't get the necessary x-rays. No Vet could do such surgery without a good set
    of x-rays.

Because Dude has not really been doing very well for the last few days { ? } or longer,
we decided to start him on Metacam.
He received his first dose today.
Hoping it will help with any possible inflammation in his nasal passages and ease his
    ability to breathe.
The problem with mucus has become very bad and we can no longer suction his
nose - at lease we are too fearful to do that any more, so the mucus keeps building
    up.
We do continue to use the nose drops on occasion but can't use it every day.
We hope Dude will feel better.

    He has my Heart....
and his Daddy's - of course.

Thanks for sharing his history; I’m so, so sorry to hear of your predicament , for a lack of experienced , veterinary help for him. But your dedication, diligent nursing care, and love are as valuable , if not more so , than the benefits a board certified surgeon, if his condition is truly too advanced for surgical options at this point. And who knows; perhaps it’s more than coincidence , or bad luck, that this wasn’t meant to be available for him. If he is a head trauma survivor, he may have been at risk of some unforeseen complication with anesthesia, regardless of all the best pre-op tests, or monitoring equipment. In other words, it’s his quality of life that you’ve gifted him with over the years ( and prayerfully for many more to come) that means the most to little Dude, I’m sure he’d agree. My little gang and I will continue to be hopefully optimistic , that things will improve a little every day.
