Default Pain medication, now he's worse

I took Seymour back to vet today, he said his incision looks great no sign of infection. So probably just pain, he gave him oral pain medicine and said he should be better by tonight. He's just laying there, he'll eat if offered but hes so just out of it. Does pain medicine do that ? God I should have never got him fixed

I don't know they're just little plunger dispensers and nothing's on the envelope . I'm supposed to give one a day
Does it make them like totally high?

Can you take a picture of this med and the dispenser.
Are these pills? I guess I'm not understanding this.
Is your vet an exotics vet that treats squirrels often.
If we can identify the drug we may be able to tell you
    how it might affect him.
    Is this drug for pain?

It's a tiny child like oral syringe, clear liquid. Filled to 2ml
For pain . He's moving around more now but still just seems stoned as hell. Is that normal for pain meds?

How much of that are you supposed to give?

Sometimes it will say on the invoice what the drugs are.

OK it's filled to 2ml, how much are you suppose to give and how often?

Edit: Sorry didn't see HRTS4SQRLS post.

Yes, look at your receipt from the vet. It may list the drug.

Some "pain meds" effect the central nervous system, some manage inflammation. Some can cause dizziness and "highs" and some cause stomach upset and some cause lethargy and so on and so on. It depends on what the actual medicine is. Without this information it's impossible to tell if what he is experiencing is "normal".

Offer extra fluids and call the vet in the morning. You will need to ask the med name and the strength for us to double check dosing. I woul dnt give again until you've got that info though, just to be on the safe side.

He climbed back in his backpack where he normally sleeps, after the medicine he just kept splatting on the floor of his cage.So that's one good sign, he drank some water before going back in. When I woke him up one of his eyes looked sleepy? I offered a . block he ate a tad then went back to sleep. It is early though,he's never awake at this time.

Can you call the vets this morning, get the name of the drug and the strength/mg/ml.
    Something seems off here.

Exactly, no more for now until we figure this out.
Do you know how much Seymour weighs?

If you don't have a scale for him that's something else you can ask the vet. They would have weighed him before surgery and dosing his medicine.

I don't know , I was assuming vet knew to give him the dosage he did.

Yes that's what I would assume too, but just ask if they have the weight on him.
Did they do any paper work/make a chart on him?
How old is Seymour, do you have a recent picture?
