    Default How Long for Formula?

Emma is maybe 9 weeks old now. She was taking formula quite well for a couple/few weeks, but has recently lost interest. She will still take some, but comparatively little. I know they can feed from mom for longer, but is 9 weeks old enough for her to no longer take formula is she doesn't want it?

I've raised many little reds and they seem to wean earlier than greys.
When they start refusing, I will just coat a very shallow bowl and let
them drink from that. I keep replenishing it as needed, warmed of course.
I babysat a little red once and the "mom" always added a little maple syrup
to the formula, she said her little one drank it longer. I haven't tried that myself
but her red was ~ 12 weeks old, and still taking formula if the maple syrup was added.
I did roughly .1 to 1 cc of formula.

Wanted to comment on your suggestions, Nancy. Emma is licking some of the formula from a bowl and she likes licking on the inside of the cup I use when I feed her. She will still take 2 cc +/- from the syringe too, so I think we're good. I tried the syrup, but it didn't really seem to make much of a difference at this point. I will try the syrup again if she becomes less interested in the formula.

So glad this is working.....and that little Emma is still taking formula.
They do wean early so this is great that she will still take it.
When Jeffrey wouldn't take formula anymore from the syringe or the bowl,
he would just eat the fox valley right out of the little container.
