    Exclamation Sanitizing syringes

How does everyone sanitize their syringes? Right now I have them soaking in super hot water. Can I add a small amount of bleach?

I use Dawn. First I let them soak for a few minutes in hot water with a drop of Dawn in it....then I pull/push the soapy water thru the syringes a few times, then I rinse everything out using plain hot water. Never had a problem. I find that the Miracle nipples will degrade -- get mushy and collapse -- if you leave them soaking in soapy water for too long and I would bet that bleach would have the same effect.

Also let dry completely after cleaning and between use.

I never soak. I put water and Dawn in a tupperware with the syringes pulled apart and nipples and shake it a bunch, then rinse with cold water and let air dry. Or keep them together and push and pull the plunger a bunch with soap and after to rinse. (depends on my level of laziness and if it's in the middle of the night. )

I have found that the (Port) brushes for Humming bird feeders are just the
right size and work quite well for cleaning formula from the insides of nipples.

I wash mine in dawn and warm water then immerse them n boiling water for 3 to 4 min. then air dry on a clean towel. Put them back together and put away.
