Dixie is a year old now. She has always slept in her hammock I make her. Yesterday, she has pulled all bedding out of it to the bottom of the cage in a corner. Is she nesting? Is she in heat?

Nesting is pretty normal. I don't think it's indicative of being in heat. I'm surprised she hasn't done it sooner!
Shes always slept in her hammock....

My juvies were tearing stuff up and building nests when they were three months old. I'm surprised she has slept in an open air hammock. The days are getting shorter. She's probably prepping for winter.

Other than blankies, what should I put in for her to nest with..._
She would probably love a box of tissues or roll of toilet paper or scraps of fleece. Avoid pillow stuffing.

Thank you. She has tissues in her play room, not to interested in them.
So its normal for her to make multiple beds?
I just dont like her on the bottom of the cage where all the poop is...when I clean it out this weekend, should I leave her bed alone or shake the bedding out? Ty

Since she liked the hammock, I would offer her a hanging cube. It's still up high and she can decorate her new digs how she wants with the nesting stuff you offer. Mine would pull out tissues, shove them in her mouth, run up to the cube and sit in there and shred them into perfectly snugly bed sized pieces.
Some people hang winter hats in the corners and they will nest in those.
I didn't clean the nests out daily, but I did reach into the cube and feel around for stashes daily. I'd find a piece of cauliflower here, a rock there, etc. Once I felt they were pretty gross, I'd clean them out and offer a new roll of toilet paper and that's what they'd do for the entire day. (And I'm pretty sure they were pissed.)
If you have a shelf in the top of the cage, a wooden nesting box can also give her a place to build a nest and something fun to chew on.
Oh, and yes it's normal for them to make more than one nest.

Shes had a smaller nesting box in her cage since shes been in it, I think shes too fat for it now. She was lifting the lid to go in and out, she couldn't get thru the hole in the front. Gonna get her a bigger box or a cube ..
