    Default possible sprained front leg

Rehabbing two male squirrels, currently about 6-7 weeks old. One seems to have sprained his front leg. When I feel around, there doesn't seem to be a break. He will use it somewhat but mostly stays off of that leg and holds it up. When feeling around, if I get to a certain spot though, he will cry out. I can't seem to get any tape around that area as a splint. It's closer to his shoulder. He is no where near as energetic as his brother and has lost some of his appetite. I've moved him out of the cage he was in to limit his climbing. Does he just need rest? How can I tell if he has a fever (read where they can get one with a sprain)? Can I give him something for pain? Need suggestions on what to do for him.

You can give infant Ibuprofen for pain, swelling and inflammation.
We will need a weight on baby to dose this.

He is a lot better now, roughhousing with his brother. His energy level is back, eating good. don,t seem to be favoring his front leg. get's to come out of ''timeout box'' and back to big cage.
