Exclamation Holli Not Eating since Hurricane Irma

    Hello All.

I live in Florida (Tampa Bay Area) and as I'm sure you all know we just
went through a pretty bad hurricane.

Holli is 1 yr, 2 months old, and has NOT come into heat yet.

Ever since the stormed past, Holli has not really been eating, Not her Henry Block, no veggies,
no fruits, Just a quick sniff, maybe a nibble then turns he noise up.
I've tried every trick I know....switching up block, adding a touch of coconut out, switching up her veggies and fruit in case she's board with her food. Don't know what else to do.

    Everything else seems fine.

I know squirrels love sticking to a routine, so I thought since we were out of routine that has effected her. We were stuck home for 5 days straight, without power for 4 and she's use to going to work on weekdays and only home on the weekend.
Note: At home, she has full roam of her own room, only in cage for sleeping, and at work full roam of the office, only in cage when there are office visitors which is not often.

She seems fine in all other aspects, drinking water, peeing good, poo is normal, just not as much, still very active, not aggressive in any way. The only new thing she is doing is running around more and stopping to look out the window more than usual.

    Any suggestions?????

Is she eating anything? Could she have some food caches hidden around that she might be using?

It could have something to do with the change in her routine as that can be stressful for them, but I will say that I have noticed my squirrels eating much less at certain times of the year. My 4 year old boy goes through spells where he hardly eat anything at all and it always worries me. I even have cut out his treats and he still just won't eat much. And then other times he eats everything in sight. I really think it has something to do with the seasons even though they are indoors. I have noticed a definite pattern with the times of year he eats less. As long as she's showing no other signs of illness, I would say keep offering her plenty of healthy food and veggies and really limit treats until you see she's eating the healthly stuff well again.

She's Nibbled on Mushroom, and ate some almonds (One per day) to make sure her teeth were not bothering her, but that's about it.

NO caches for sure, just cleaned her room & Cage at home last Friday, and her
hide areas & Cage here at work last Thursday.

She goes to the food dishes, roots around, but doesn't eat.

Thanks so Much, I was really hoping that's all it was, I'm an over protective mommy for sure.
So far no signs of illness (Thank goodness).
I have however noticed she's cleaning herself a lot more.

    Have you checked her teeth?
Just make sure they aren't too long, or misaligned.
Try something new like snap peas or avocado without the skin or pit.
(Unless you've already been offering these to her.)
How about a little piece of corn on the cob?
It's not recommended but most squirrels LOVE it,
just to see if she'll eat anything.

    Thanks...

Snap Peas are a NO....have not tried avocado or corn, but will.

Teeth seem fine, she ate an IN shell almond yesterday, and a hazelnut today.
Last Friday, walnut in the shell.

Glad the teeth are fine and that she can crack nuts.
Now I wonder if she's holding out for the "good stuff"?

I just looked at here teeth, they do look long to me, the bottoms look to be long enough to fit
behind her top teeth when her mouth is closed.

Is there anyway you can get a good picture?
    She may need them trimmed.
They should fit behind, but NOT touch the roof of their mouth.

I'll try to get a photo.

She just ate a Henry Block, 40% to her tummy and 60% on the floor, but that
    sure makes me feel better.

No Luck getting a photo of her teeth, but look almost just like the ones on to above posted photos.

Last night she ate 2 small PB balls I made for her that had Henry's Vitamins mixed in,
so far today she hasn't eaten a bit of anything.

She's full of energy, and looks OK, but this NOT eating thing is really worrying me

Average first heat is 1 yr, 3 months. And you said she is grooming more and looking outside...

Breeding cycles are normally trigger by seasonal changes... Her winter coat is in, maybe the Hurricane made her clock start ticking.
    Hopefully it's all just hormones.
