    Question Need dosing

For a 101g baby squirrel with diarrhea, which one of these is best to use? What's the dose?

Bismuth - is a store brand of Pepto-Bismol. But the pharmacist said that they do not use Bismol for children, too strong and there is aspirin in it (?).
    Kaopektate - for children
    Align - propbiotic.

Also, there was this powdered pedialyte (Electrolyte Maintenance Powder) - is this ok to use or no?

    How old is the squirrel?
"Until one has loved an animal, part of one's soul remains unawakened."
    - Anatole France

"We have doomed the wolf not for what it is, but for what we deliberately and mistakenly
perceive it to be - the mythologized epitome of a savage ruthless killer - which is, in reality,
no more than a reflected image of ourselves."

Wanted to get ingredients for the BRAT diet (BRAT formula
3 tablespoons (already) mixed formula 2-1
1/2 tsp baby rice powered cereal
1/2 tsp banana baby food. )

So found powdered Rice cereal, but they didn't have banana baby food. However, they had this banana/brown rice/quinoa mix.

So, what's best: incomplete BRAT formula (formula + rice powdered cereal), OR the banana/brown rice/quinoa mix + formula?

Also, when it says 1/2tsp baby rice powdered cereal - is it the dry powder 1/2tsp, or is it 1/2tsp of the powder mixed with water according to the package instructions?Name: IMG_5562.JPG

What's best is the actual recipe, the banana and powered rice serve a function together. I would not use that mix you have.
It is the 1/2 teaspoon dry rice powder cereal as is that you would add to the already mixed formula along with the 1/2 tsp. banana food.

I personally prefer Kaopectate as prescribed by my vet. Dosage for 100 grams would be zero-point-two 0.2
frequency: QID as needed. Poops will turn black with Kao, nothing to be concerned about.

thank you stepnstone. Obviously, the actual recipe is the best, but since there is no banana baby food, trying to find the next best thing.

Bananas have a certain starch called pectin that is good for the digestive tract. They also help with the absorption of water and electrolytes.
Fruits that are high in Pectin include Apples, Blackberries, Cape Gooseberries, Crab Apples, Cranberries, Gooseberries, Grapes, Medlars, Plums and Quince.
Any citrus fruit peel is also very high in Pectin. Possibly using a substitution from this list would be a suitable alternative.

    Thank you, stepnstone.

Another question: he's had 5 doses of kaopektate (soon it will be 24hrs since he's been on it), but the poop isn't turning black.
    Is something wrong?
