    Question stepped on a chippy

    Hi
Today as I stepped out my door I accidentally stepped on a chipmunks back end of its body. I didn't put my full weight and it didn't squeal or make any noise. I don't know if I injured it. I have a few 4-5 that come for food and can tell some apart either by size or injuries bite marks.
It happened so fast and when I realized I took my foot off and it ran off. I'm pretty sure I saw each one afterwards coming for peanuts and none really looked injured.
Later on hours later I found 3 drops of blood away from where id stepped on it and couldn't find any blood elsewhere it could've been from a squirrel jumping the pigeons trying to steal their food.
My questions are would it have squealed if in pain/hurt?
What injuries may it have gotten from being stepped on?
Any ideas advice experience will be greatly appreciated
    Thank you

    crissy, I'm sorry that happened.
It's really hard to say. Not all animals will squeal with pain. The fact that it ran away under its own power is a positive sign. Stepping on the rear end could have easily broken the spine but it would have dragged the back legs. I would look for the chippy tomorrow. Hopefully it wasn't injured seriously.

    Hopefully he scooted away--unharmed.
Do you know where they sleep/nest ? maybe you can look for more "sign" there ?

If you did not see the blood after that happened then it might be blood from another animal fight later on?

Running away is a good sign.
