Another member just explained the liquid vs powder Esbilac in another thread.

This is a protein issue. The canned liquid is not just the powdered stuff mixed up and canned. It is made with a type of protein called casein - and the powdered is made with whey protein isolate. Casein is much harder to digest and can actually shut the digestive process down. The food doesn't pass through the system and out the other end, and begins to putrify inside the body, killing the squirrel. They bloat up from the gasses escaping the rotting formula and die. Will it happen to EVERY baby? No - some are tougher than others - but why take the chance? Add to this the fact that while NONE of the Esbilac is cheap, you will spend WAY more buying the canned than you will the powdered.

There are plenty of words in the back but none up front. Please let us know how Hubert is doing?

He is precious. ❤️ Remember to only give him formula at 5-7% of his body weight for now. (Example of 5% : If he weighs 60 grams then he should take 3ml at 5 x per day. I would stay on the lower (5%) side for at least a few days until you get him transitioned over to the powdered Esbilac. Giving too much new formula at first could give him soft stools again. I would feed every 3-3 1/2 hours. How much does he weigh now?
Also, it looks like he has kitten fur syndrome. ( 🙀 )That is because of the liquid Esbilac. Usually the kitten fur will resolve itself once on the powdered Esbilac for a while. Is he eating the powdered Ebbilac formula ok?
