    Default Squirrel Blocks 101

Okay ya'll, I'm shopping for Squirrel Blocks because Fester is starting to eat solid foods like a champ

What do I need to know? Or, better yet, are there any suggestions on brands I should buy? I need to be able to ship them out to Alaska, too.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Henryspets.com sells squirrel blocks that are the best taste-wise, but for commercial block I like Oxbow the variety for young rats and mice.

I agree that Oxbow is the best quality commercial block available in stores. Start him on them FIRST before he tastes anything else. I have not had good luck switching babies to Oxbow if they've already tried other blocks.

Thank you, @SammysMom and @island rehabber!

Another question for the board: Fester is chewing on some antler I had put in there when I first got the squirrels. I read some where online that they will chew on it for calcium which is great. However, he is now chewing that instead of his veggies, which makes me wonder if I should chop them up more/puree them into a smoothie for him? He chews the antler which made me think he could handle bigger veggie sizes. They're still cut up (think pico de gallo vegetable sizes: nice and chopped). The blocks won't be here for a few more days (I ended up opting for the Henry's because they could ship it up to me hehe) but what should I do about the vegetable situation? >.>

Edit: Well, he's eating them now! I guess he was waiting to see if I would spoil him with a banana this morning first >.> little, sneaky cutie!
