I know some of you use certain types of flowers for treats. I was wondering if you could list the type you use? It would be a big help!

My tortoise used to love nasturtium and I know fancy restaurants put them on your salads these days, also the flowers from courgettes are apparently really tasty but I think you have to grow them yourself to get the flowers. I have a friend who gets driven mad by the wild squirrels, they eat all her camellia buds but not the white ones, the pink ones. X
Ok! What about hunny suckle and jacaranda? The bees and hummingbirds are always eating the jacarandas, so are they safe for squirrels?
I give roses and hibiscus. They love red hibiscus.
Ok thanks! More to add! And also, if a tree's wood is safe for a squirrel, are the leaves safe off the same tree? And are tomato, jacaranda, and honeysuckle flowers safe?
Are walnut leaves and sticks safe? I have one in my yard and my church. Please respond
Yes, walnut is safe according to the Pet Squirrel Healthy diet chart. I don't know about the other things you're questioning.

Ok thank you! I am familiar with that page but never thought to look there.
Is butternut safe? It is part of the walnut family. I'm having trouble seeing if mine is black walnut or butternut. The bark looks different than in most pics, but the leaves and branches look the exact same. It is bearing no fruit this year.

This may help. It looks the like honeysuckle is toxic.
Some plants I have read have parts that are toxic and others not. Having mulitple references is a good idea.
I give hibiscus and roses. They also love fresh rose hips, those are the bulb where the rose bloom was at , it's the seed pod. Hackberry tree branches, pear tree branches. The prickly pears off cactus . I too am always trying to find more of the natural plant food for my boy. It's so helpful when we all put our heads together in increase knowledge
I was told clover flowers and dandelion flowers and mine likes to just shred them up... Not sure if she eats them, or just has fun shredding!

Ok thank you!
Just remember that 2nd grade science experiment where you took blue dye and added to the vase and put a white carnation in the vase. Next day the flower was blue. If your lawn has been treated with pesticides or fertilizer that is not food grade or from a flower shop where they put stuff in the water to make them last longer they are probably not safe to give to your fur babies.
Yes I know that we don't use pesticides

Not surprisingly like most field grains this one is susceptable to fungus contamination; and not just the seeds, but the flowers also.
