Default Storage for opened Esbilac and Fox Valley?

It says store in cool dark place.

Where to store unopened bags of formula powder? Room temp? Fridge?

Where to store OPENED bags of formula powder? Room temp? Fridge?

    Thanks.

So I am still a little unclear on this... are you suggesting that it be stored in a freezer?

Well, yes, in a subtle manner, yes, I am suggesting the freezer, I think.

I ignored that advise based on previous years of just storing room temp.. seemed just fine.

UNTIL this year. I just bought some in September.. I opened it.. used some.. Opened it in Febuary.. IT WENT BAD. I mean it actually smelled like sour milk. SO.. into the trash it went.. off to the store went I to get esbilac...

I will be taking this advise from now on. FREEZER. Never again at room temp.

I freeze mine and just remove a small amount every few days which I keep in the fridge. From that I mix my formula for the day. I have rarely, if ever, had to throw out either type of formula......(only when I find a small Ziploc of it somewhere in the bottom of an overnight bag I'd used when traveling with babies )

anyone know how long it's safe to store fox valley in the freezer before it has to be pitched?
    Thanks

If opened, I'll keep mine about 3 months and then out it goes. Unopened, you've got the expiration date on the package and usually that's pretty far in the future.
