Need Rehabber DFW TX

Found this baby squirrel on front porch. (also found dead adult squirrel on sidewalk, was probably mom)

As far as I can tell, he seems about 5-6 weeks old (eyes open, crawls around). He doesn't look injured, and has been drinking water (water,salt,sugar, looked it up online).

I, of course, have nothing to feed it.

Place a non shut off heating pad half under the container you currently have
the baby in. Set the pad setting on LOW
Put in plenty of fleece or tshirts anything without loops so the baby
can crawl off of the heat if it gets too warm.
Are you able to offer any hydration?
Do you have a syringe of any kind?
Never feed a cold baby.
Always feed in an upright position with the syringe pointing
towards the roof of the mouth.
The syringe should be NO larger than 3 mLs and preferably 1 mL.
Make sure the container you have the baby in, is squirrel proof meaning
that he cannot crawl out and that it is deep enough as they can climb
at this age.

Prognosis is good.

I had some plastic droppers for use in applying CA (they were of course fresh).

I got him to drink by placing him in the bottom of the tub, and squirting a little pool infront of his face and he lapped it up (did this several times over). Warmed him up by putting him in a box with a bag of warm rice and paper towels. Later, I gave him a warm bath (he was not amused) to rinse off the fleas and put him in a box with some more rice and paper towels to dry him off, changing towels to fresh ones every so often so they would be dry. I drove him to FortWorthSquaddy later that night.

Prognosis: perfect.

We named him Buckwheat. He's currently eating ~12 cc per feeding, has tons of energy, and might start hopping really soon.

Might have him vacation with Noelle for a month or two, then we'll get him back (probably with his cousins Pip & Squeak) for soft-release on our 4 acre mini-zoo.

Can move from emergency threads after folks have a chance to read his update :-)
