Can I weigh her every feeding for an idea of her progress?

I am having so much fun with Sparky's new scale. It makes it so much easier to know how much I'm feeding her

It would be nice if it weighed partial grams but I'm happy. So is Sparky.

It took us a while but we are much better cooperating with each other with the syringe, the proper angle, and the proper flow.

Finding the feeding by weight chart was so helpful as are

    Type of syringe

Fixes is also a great page

I plan to add to this and make it a new thread since these have been the most helpful and I wild like them in one place

Thank you too everyone in The Squirrel Board for making these documents available

amzi Great work and good news she's getting livelier

Has anyone contacted you on the dosing? Is she still just rolling around? Or is there improvement? The sooner we try the pred the better...if it's still needed

Edit: oh and please be careful with the wildlife centers ....ask lots of questions....tell them you are going to follow up on her....because they have been known to play nice to the public....but once they have a compromised squirrel they usually euthanize or worse...feed it to one of their predator species

    Just seeing this now.
You have 20 mg of Prednisone and your little one weighs 294 grams, correct?
Let me get dinner on the table first and I will write up dosing instrucitons.

Do you have a 1 cc syringe?
You will need that for dosing.

yes....that's a good way to keep up with her progress ...or even once a day I'd keep a record of it too

Spanky has contacted me a couple of times but I finally found the information.

    I so feel for Sparky.

I found a vet that would look at her for free but as all the rescue orgs are FULL I know they would just put her down

I go back and forth on what's best for her but I'm glad to be here for her as long as she sticks around

Thank you every one for all the love patience and info

You can bath the baby in warm water and a little blue Dawn dish washing soap. This usually takes care of the mites.
It would be safer than the ivermectin in this case. Ivermectin is used for that purpose but with a head tilt, the baby might have neurological problems. Ivermectin might cause problems if the baby has neurological issues.

Again, welcome and thanks for caring!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance too reply sooner and thank you for your warm welcome

Sparky got her first dose of prednisone just now and I will be giving her more formula soon. I sure see where squirrelly comes from. Now that she is feeling better she is quite squirrelly. It's wonderful to watch her improve.

I did reach out once after the weight was posted to see if dosing had been provided; I had not been following the thread and it was a little disjointed for me! I was away when the message was sent about not having received dosing and by the time I was back on Nancy had already dosed (Thank You Nancy!!!).

I hope Sparky will respond and improve with the pred!!!

Sparky seems to be eating better. And now since I found the feeding scheduled I won't feed her so often.

I'm trying to collect my favorite articles. I know Sparky wouldn't be here without all the compassionate people on TSB.

    Sparky passed away today

She just refused to eat enough
She was a though little bugger
I buried her under a tree near a stream
The skies opens up and wept for her today

    She taught me so much

I will alway think fondly of her with abundant joy and melancholy

Thank you everyone for all the help and warm thoughts

Next time I will be better prepared because of what I learned here and what she taught me

My sympathy to you for your loss of sparky. You did a amazing job caring for her. It seems her injuries were too bad for her to recover. She had a loving mom to care for her. Thank you for giving her your heart. I know it hurts right now. Rest easy little Sparky girl.

I'm so sorry Sparky lost the fight. You were a great caretaker and did what you could, so for that, thank you
