Swollen Testicle

would anyone know why my squirrel's left testicle would be swollen? Possibly a bug bite?

I am trying. The swollen part is in between the testicle & his private part, not behind the testicle.

I can't really tell from this pic. Are you saying that there are the two testicles and a third lump somewhere or is one just bigger than the other? Is this something that just happened or has it been that way for a while?

One just seems to be bigger than the other. We just noticed it.

See if you can get a better pic for us.

Is he messing with it? Showing signs of pain? Their testicles are constantly changing - from huge to nearly nonexistent depending on if it is breeding time or not.

No he is not messing with it. It is hard to tell if he is in pain. He just seemed to not be eating quite as much (I guess), so that got me looking closely at him-that is when I noticed it.

Do you have a vet for him? And how old is the squirrel?

No I do not have a vet. He is 6 years old.

OK, given his age I do think a vet check may be in order. I am trying to find contact info for you - vets who will even see squirrels are rare - those who will see squirrels and know anything about them even rarer, but I am almost sure there is one is NC. Bear with me.

This COULD be nothing and if he was a year old I would be a little less concerned but at 6 this could be a problem...
