    Default 4skwerlz Baby Squirrel Care

Sometimes when we refer a member to 4skwerlz Baby Squirrel Care, (6 pages)
we explain about the NEXT arrow at the top of the page showing them to continue.
I thought I would post this here to save time and to actually show the new members
    what we are talking about.
I put the BLUE arrow, to show where the NEXT button is located.
    I hope this helps.

    Good idea, that was needed....
I might also suggest adding; " click on picture to enlarge "
Very often I'm reading where one is not familiar with forums,
it can be very frustrating trying to figure how to and what
    does what.
I even did my own bit of squinting trying to read those small
pictures before I finally figured that one out.

I am a huge fan of this thread and that link as well. As many new people on here know, I've been recommending it frequently.

IMO, it is imperative that people coming to this thread catch on to the fact that there are a full SIX PAGES of information. In this sense, I like the way that it is currently set up, but if changes are made, I think it would be ideal to keep that obvious. And obvious to even bad readers, young people, foreigners, etc. by keeping that fact easy to see and one of the first things that people notice when coming here.

Thanks Nancy for this fantastic thread!

Would it help if the pages were edited to reflect:
    and 2 of 6, etc.
THAT would remind new viewers to keep looking until they read 6 pages...!!!

    I DID mention it's 6 pages.
TSB Cannot edit this as this is Leigh's and she
would have to do the numbering.

I would also make the NEXT button in the same color as that blue arrow on post #1, and make it larger. It's all about the visual map. What is a visual map? Next time you are with someone near a magazine cover, pick up the magazine cover and see what you notice on the cover first, second, and third when you first look at it. Then, tell whoever is with you to tell you what they see first, second, and third when you show them the magazine cover. Chances are everyone will see the same 3 things. This is intentional. IMO, the next button should be one of those 3 thing (along with Henrys brand name).

one thing about the location of the Next Page link is that it's in a section of the web page that typically most people do not see.

in my daytime job I'm a "User Experience Designer" which means focusing on how people navigate through websites. on a desktop, users will scan the page in a rough "F" pattern, looking at the very top header navigation and then reading about 3/4 to 1/2 of the page across.

From the current page design and the copy, 2 things:

    make the text at the end of the copy that says "go to Step 2" an actual text link that goes to that page (and follow this throughout each page);

move the Next Page icon from the top right under the photo, flush left so it's in the content being read; or, leave that at the top right but add another right under the photo, flush left.

it's easy to think people are dumb for not following what's there now, but there's been lots of research and testing that shows the upper right of a web page (particularly desktop and tablet) are blind spots. also if somebody is anxious while reading this because they are new to squirrel care and just found a baby, that adds to the amount of scanning versus word-by-word reading they will do.
