Hi,
This is a new one for me.....baby squirrel 7 weeks old, found last week, bleeds from the mouth but only when eating. Any ideas on what this could be? Is he biting himself during feeding somehow?
Thanks for any help.

He is teething. You may see it for a couple days.
Mine is about 7 weeks too and I noticed a little bit of blood around his mouth yesterday but not today I believe its the same thing
Very likely. They are pretty enthusiastic about going at the nipple and then suddenly they have sharp little teeth erupting.
maybe malocclusion? happens when their teeth grow too long you might want to try clipping them
Watch those nails while they are eating, some of my babies would scratch
the area around the mouth while they tried to knead the syringe. I placed
my finger between them and their nails to stop the scratching and the bleeding
STOPPED!!
