So should I not worry about the glue and wash the oil off? There is still glue that I was worried about.

I have no experience at all in this type of situation but ScubaNurse said she bathed her little man every day for a week go get the oil out. Hers was young though so I'm not sure how much this little gal would enjoy that! I mean, it could be a real bonding experience for you two!

Hey Pixiepoo...are you confusing "bonding" with "bandaging"?

Can't answer that but my main target would be to clear any glue away from the skin so the skin can breathe,
then work on the fur in intervals.
You both probably need a break...

Thanks Gayle for trying so hard.
I guess it always was a long shot.
I really thought Slick had beat the odds.
    This makes me so sad.

Yes, I started out just going through the motions. I knew she was not going to make it through the terrible ordeal of removing her from that trap. But she did...and that gave me hope. I am sadder than I ever thought I would be about this poor little girl. I am going to make it a mission to blab at people endlessly about the horror of these traps. I will do that in Slick's memory.

I just read this thread tonight.

I just saw that first post with the picture of Slick caught in the trap.

Words fail me. How ANYONE could think this is an acceptable, much less a moral, thing to do is beyond belief.

I only hope that Slick knew, even for a short time, that you loved him and we're trying to help.

I am sorry you had to deal with this horror, but I am glad Slick was in your hands before he passed over.

Oh Gayle, I am so very sorry to read this.
    You were her angel.
I know there are no words to comfort.
Yet for some reason, again, you were the chosen one to help
to help this little girl take her final journey home.
I think that God knows the little ones that need that extra
something, and he makes sure they find their way to you.
    Rest in Peace
    Precious little Slick

Can't believe she made it out of that mess but still didn't make it.
    Damn traps... piss me off.

It's amazing the cruel things people can be content with doing.
Most of the time people just pick up the glue strip with the animal on it and throw it in the trash.
Out of sight out of mind while this poor thing is left to waste away slowly.

    F'n awful.

Nice job with her though Sammy's Mom.

I'm sooo sorry Gayle What a horrible, dispicable, completely unnecessary death I'll be preaching for Slick as well...I didn't even realize they made such cruel death traps...why am I even surprised ...fly free Slick

I come into the peace of wild things

And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Thanks everyone... she will not have died in vain if even one person's use of these torture chambers is stopped.

SM, I have deliberately not moved this thread to the Rainbow Bridge because its message is so vitally important and powerful. I almost think it should be made a sticky.
