    Default Posting in Emergency threads

This is just a reminder of the importance of keeping Emergency threads to helping the emergency at hand. We have to remember that somewhere out there is someone who is desperately trying to help their beloved squirrel. Should a topic arise that you would like to explore in more depth, you could create a thread of your own in our Off Topics area or perhaps in Non Emergency. Unfortunately, each post that is added to the Emergency thread pushes the pertinent questions and the answers to those questions, further apart. There is ALWAYS room for discussions about any topic that pertains to squirrels (or other things for that matter), but we do need to try to keep active emergency threads as on topic as possible for the person who is trying to get information to help their squirrel. There is no room for posts that are not there to help that particular animal and/or human to solve the immediate problem at hand.
We are all here for a common reason…squirrels.

One other point I would like to make.
We need HELP in the emergency sections, and if you can help, chime in.

Please don’t try to be argumentative when emergencies are trying to be handled.
Even if it’s a link or an encouraging word to the poster POST IT.

What we are asking, is if you have questions EXAMPLE:
    “why did the squirrel pass”,
or what is the “protocol for giving XX drug, and where did you come up with the amount”
PLEASE start a thread in Off Topics.

OR send the person you are “questioning” a pm. Don’t ask in the emergency area
and sidetrack the efforts being made.
It gets too time consuming, and too muddled with off topics.

There has been a long time rumor that only the triage members can post in emergencies.
NOT TRUE. It has never been that way, and never
    will be that way.

We welcome ALL help and always have.

Amen to all above. Scientific discourse is a beautiful thing
...but in the moment, we do what our experience tells us has WORKED BEFORE. "Why" is a question for later on when the crisis is over.
