released from board but dont know what else to do
Do you hve any clue to what kind of glue? How old is he?
from a mouse glue board he's small enough to fit in the palm of my hand./we have a family of squirrels that vist our bird feeder every morning if i let him go will they adopt him?
Can you possibly tell where he came from, was this inside of your house? Are there others...
Can you put him in a box with a heating pad? I will look quickly for a rehabber in your area.

conneaut lake. PA crawford county, named him donnie, not sure if male or female? how do you tell? he looks to be about 5 weeks per pics on this site.
no momma insite, left him (her) out back near the woods for about 4 hours.
not dehydrated, seems thin though. fed DONNA lol, 1cc of sugar water per instructions on site, will get padilite tomorrow, & try for some puppies milk.
dont have digital camera for pics.
Do you have a gram scale, like a kitchen one to weigh Donnie? That will help determine the amount to feed and how well he/she is progressing. What are you using to feed Donnie with?
no scales yet. feeding with a syringe no needle, dont have a nipple yet. goona try & downlad a pic of donna....
I hate glue boards. PETA is very active in trying to get them pulled from store shelves (I'm not a member of PETA, but this is a good cause).Originally Posted by linda j henry
Re feeding: The main thing to watch out for is 'aspirating' (search info on 'aspiration'). That has to do with how rapidly they try to drink and sometimes the position of the syringe. One of our members named 'NewYorker' is very good with baby squirrels. I'll email her about this.
Meanwhile, there's some info here:
http://www.rainbowwildlife.com/baby-squirrel.htm
Formula: Esbilac Puppy formula is probably available at a local pet store.
I'll try to get NewYorker to check in soon.
If you do call the GC they may be able to help you find a closer rehabber.
I will do some checking on it myself tomorrow.

Hi fellow NY rehabbers. Yes, that link contains some very good baby squirrel information and was actually taken directly from our own Chris Clark's website www.squirrelsandmore.com (upper right corner of this page). Oh well, I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, LOL!!Originally Posted by StringTheory
You're in good hands, linda. The best thing is to get your Esbilac puppy formula and nipple attachments and then read up on the basic points of baby squirrel care. Squirrels are vigorous creatures even as babies, and truly want to live and thrive, most of the time, but their diets are complex and they aspirate easily. If you can educate yourself about those two main points you'll be off to a good start.

just to let all know, donna's doing well. she is eating and active! am off to the store to get her supplies. thanks to all who were so helpful, your advice was most appreciated/ ps.glue board was at a neighbors and he asked my brother to come over and see what he caught cos he was scared. my brother brought her home .glad it worked out that way
talked to a woman in pittsburgh this afternoon who will take DONNA tomorrow she was on the list that I got from your info. I am going in to visit my daughters and since there was nobody up here where I am that could rehab her my brother suggested allegheny co. I will be sorry to see her go I believe she will be better off because this woman has done this before MY little angel is eating apples and crackers and peanutbutter as suggested by Lois in pgh. and already climbed onto the top of her box. We have 2 dogs and am afraid she may come to harm if she stays here! again thanks to all who came to our rescue I will come back often just to stay in touch with such wonderful caring people stay safe y'all and God bless!!!!!
Linda thank you for caring for the baby and finding her placement with someone. Please do stay in touch.

Aw, great to hear that she's doing well and will be off to someone who can help her along her way to being released someday. Thank you for caring enough to make sure she was safe and for finding someone to continue her care! They really wrap you around their little paws, don't they?
absolutely positively and am better for it
