    Default Hair Loss on Arms

    Hi everyone,
So my 9 Week Eastern Grey is having some hairloss on his arms. It started a week and a half ago, at which point I began to clean him thoroughly after feedings, fearing formula burns. However, it continues to slowly get worse. Can anyone tell me what this is/how to treat. I've seen about 1/100 squirrels around my area with some gnarly hairloss but he's not at that point yet, if ever

Has he been gnawing on them constantly? --do you see any other hair loss on him, like down the middle of his back? And what does his skin look like and what does his ears look like, crusty? I am trying to figure out if he might have mites or mange...... if he does this easily treatable with kitten Revolution (1 drop between the shoulder blade) --if the squirrel is not at least 6 weeks old wash him in blue Dawn dish soap until he reaches 6-8 weeks old for safety reasons.

Skin looks slightly read but intact, there's an area near the back of his skull where it looks like his hair has thinned but it's hard to tell if that's hair loss at this point, no crusting on ears (totally clean).

He is 9 weeks, can you be more specific about the safety reasons?

Hair loss in that particular place on the forearm is often due to formula dripping on them while the baby is eating. If formula is not completely cleaned off immediately it removes hair like you wouldn't believe. Often you will see babies with no hair on their cheeks or chins for this reason, as well. Check whether, while you're feeding him from one side, he is dripping on the other side of his mouth -- that will tell you if it's formula burn.

Are you cleaning with more than water? Unscented baby wipes are good.

I dry wipe him clean immediately with a cotton ball, then wipe him more throughly with a wet cotton ball. He's almost weaned, if formula is the cause how quickly should I expect recovery after I stop formula?

The fur takes a few weeks to grow back in.

The chemicals in kitten Revolution are not safe to be used on animals under 8 weeks old.
...... as with most animal products.
