The DUDE is NOT Well--Please look and advise !!!!!!

Cruiser would NOT come out of his nest box this morning--and when he did he pooped some slimy greenish brown stools. Yesterday he ate some People Crap, .( small piece of pancake & butter--small corner of a corn chip )but he occasionally gets People food. Not much at all.

I just want someone to tell me: " Dont Worry, He's Gonna be O.K. !!! "

I also saw what looked like a small pile of "Throw -up" - in his cage--and he is making that retching noise , like he's gonna throw up again.

If this turns out to be a one-time slimy poop or even twice, he ate something yesterday that didn't agree with him. However if poops continue all day to be green and get even looser, and if you notice a sickly-sweet odor later on today -- you can smell it soon as you get within 8 ft of his cage -- it may be coccidia. (green color = possible cox) You'll want to treat that with SMZ-TMP for at least 2 weeks, and consider yourself part of the Great Coccidia Poop-In of 2013....

I sorta know what meds stosh has, hence the pic, {not stepping on toes}NINY is correct, metronidazole 250mg

Hydration is always a good idea along with all the other suggestions. Will he take water from a syringe? That might push whatever is in there through more quickly. Not much sugar added though as it can also worsen loose stool.

If you have any RICE cereal - like rice crispies, rice chex, etc., he can have a few of those as a treat, but wait until he is no longer retching. Rice helps bind stuff up. If you can convince him to take extra hydration, do that - you can use the hydration fluid for 24 hours and the sugar/salt flavor may make him drink more.

For today, water and blocks only - no fruit, no veggies. Stosh, I just don't like the idea of anything that has any fruit in it going into him for now since that tends to loosen the poops, which he doesn't need. I would also do the SALT portion of the hydration for at least part of today - vomiting and diarrhea mess with the electrolytes and that is when you WANT the salt added.

Cruiser is active and looking "NORMAL" whatever that is...Ha
CR squirrels have a fruit based diet... different from Northern squirrels. Veges would be hard on an upset stomache
Isn't apple and banana good for the bowel--it firms up the stool. ?
What "salt" ratio ( hydration) do you suggest ?
