as far as I know, I didn't get an email from Nancy. I probably missed it some where, though.

Is there any reason that you can't get your little one looked at ASAP?
If he is suffering and hurting the sooner the better.
I didn't see your other thread, is his diet alright, and have you looked at the nutriton section here?
OK pm'ing the info now.
Good Luck, see if she knows of someone closer to you.

yes, tomorrow we have church, then on Thursday we have a concert. we might be able to go on Friday, but I'm not sure. if they were open, I would want to take her tonight, but I cant do that, because 1 they aren't open & 2 I have to fit it in with my family's schedule. I have wanted to take her to a vet asap for a while.
I will be sure to call her BEFORE she is so far along that she can not help her.
Are you anywhere near Claremore?
If you call Gail, whom I gave you the contact info for, see if she knows of someong closer to you that could look at her.
it is farther away than Owasso, 11 miles more. if it were not 212, than we might go there. thank you for the suggestion, though!
very good and crucial point.Originally Posted by Nancy in New York
With certain conditions a day even hours matter. Squirrels have smaller bodies and faster metabolisms - everything, including deteriorating of tissues occurs faster.
Today is Tuesday and you said maybe Friday?... that might be too long to let this go undiagnosed and without assessment. Asap means if possible tomorrow
you may not know it until it is too far goneOriginally Posted by 1 4 Precious
Some conditions do not show symptoms until it's too far gone
And squirrels are good at hiding their pain and how bad they feel
When you see them looking unwell - it means things are REALLY not good
I want to take her ASAP, and I will try. I was just saying that I highly doubt that I will be able to take her tomorrow, I know I wont be able to take her Thursday for sure.
yes, I figured that they were good at hiding pain.
What we are saying is call and get something set up. Do not put this off or you are risking her life. It is really as simple as that.
Squirrels, squirrels and more squirrels....
Prayers for the people who make this a better world...

I will try VERY hard to get something set up tomorrow.
oh, I was saying that I could not take her up there till friday. :-)
Please do set it up tomorrow. Jesus will understand if you run late to save one of his precious creatures. I'm sure he'd prefer an act of compassion to an act of worship any day.
You might think that people here are overreacting, but after you've been here for a short while you'll realize that they're not. On the one hand, we haven't seen pictures, so for all we know this could be another situation where when we finally get pictures we're all like, "OMG, get that squirrel to a vet yesterday. It's already maybe too late." And on the other hand, we have seen so many go downhill so fast. Days, hours, even minutes can be critical, and we don't really know what your squirrel's situation is. Bottom line, we've all just seen too much.
Btw, the thread mentioned about Hammie was a very sad one which ended in death from infection just a couple days ago. He was a really sweet squirrel and absolutely beloved by his family. It ended in death because of delays largely caused by the fact that, though his mom took him to a vet at great personal cost (they're not rich), the vet wasn't very knowledgable about squirrels, and by the time the people here could put advise about the appropriate action, Hammie died a really sad and ugly death.

I will try.... she does NOT like picture time. She only sits still for me, anyone else, she scratches till they let go.
Luke 23:34, 45-47
Then said Jesus, Father forgive them: for they know not what they do. and they parted his raiment and cast lots.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
And when Jesus had cried in a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
And when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
Good to see you back. Did you set up something with the vet?
