I am so very sorry. I followed pigi's progress from the beginning and was so touched by your compassion and commitment to this friend. Even though his injuries were so severe and the odds were against him you gave him a gift. You gave him compassion and love. He felt it, so did we. You are a very kind person astra. My heart aches for you.

Awww, I am so sorry. I was just speaking with Jodi, as she is not home, but I let her know and she wanted me to tell you how very sorry she is. I am sure she will post herself when she gets home. RIP sweet baby. Astra, you did all you could, leg injuries in birds are tough. But she was warm, fed and loved, which she would not have had without you.

ugh..i'm absolutely heartbroken for you, i can't even express how sad i am over his needing to leave you, i just cant think of any words
you were so wonderful to have taken such good care of him, i had convinced myself that he was going to be okay and you were going to have a piji best friend for years to come
i knew he wouldn't be perfect but i was sure he was on the mend
i'm just so sad i can't even handle it right now

actually, when I brought him to the vet first, they needed a name to put him in their system... I didn't have a name for him, so ... I remembered your Peeper... and that's how my little pigeon was known at the vet...

What you did for Piji was just amazing. You got a lot of good advice from knowledgeable people and didn't think twice about acting on his care. You took him in and gave him safety, food, medical care, most people wouldn't have even stopped for the little guy.
