I saw this squirrel a week or so ago and could easily tell that she had some trouble eating. She was mostly licking out of the side of her mouth and not seeming to use her front teeth. I initally thought maybe her front teeth were too long and causing an issue.
Today as my boyfriend and I were about to leave the house, he noticed her just laying in the driveway, nose down and not moving. She is obviously very sick. I was able to scoop her with little fight, no verbal stress at all. I cleaned her up as well as i could, her nose was scabbed over and eye scabbed shut. She has an obvious infection(and hole where puss was oozing) on the right side of her face that i uncovered while cleaning, her lower jaw seems "chunky" ... infection? injury? she does not move her jaw, but moves her tounge in a licking motion. I didnt weight her yet but she is surprisingly at a very health weight, my boyfriend and i were both surprised at how heavy she is.
Ive attached pictures for ya'll to see, I tried my best with the photos but she was a little difficult to pose.
Any ideas on how to treat? what her issue may be? From what we could see her teeth do not seem like they themselves have punctured her mouth, tho they are awkward.
Thanks !
