    Default is this down's?

    she's now a adult

She seems deaf and blind in one eye ( eyeball looks normal)

If she is standing on her back legs and you give her food, she lets go off the bars in her age, grabs the food and will fall straight backwards and landed on her back, roll over and eat

when I have her out, it seems the only way she can "run" is backwards, she never runs or move fast forwards

I've had her about year & half and she has only now just learned how to run/flip upside, backwards motion that normal much younger squirrels do when playing. Do you know what I mean? I am not really explaining this right if you have never seem a normal "teen, not quite of age to release" squirrels

she doesnt like change, for example when I moved her to a bigger cage w/o more of a open top she wouldnt relax or go to sleep and was so scared until I put something over the top or held her until she went to sleep

she got a short, stocky body.and some missing strips of hair on her belly

I can post a video,I'll film her sometime Wednesday.

One thing I left out, when she "runs" backwards she just in circles.

when I 1st got her,I post here asking about her.She looked like she had been attacked by red ants over her entire body.I'll look for my old post

she is solid w/ a short stocky body

Only from reading about them here, it seems most of the Downs babies have some characteristics that you don't describe - difficulty eating, failure to thrive, they seem to be unable to properly regulate body temp and need heating pads forever, etc. Yours, especially with the circling, sounds more like a neuro issue - she may have hit a limb or something when she came out of the nest...

I agree w/ both of you,she doesnt need a heating pad anymore. She did have trouble eating and for a long time I keep her on baby food that she could lick up.but now she can chew good,to good! In just a few hours she came very close to chewing threw the entire left side bottom panel of her cage.( she's in a small animal cage like a ferret/rabbit cage.plastic bottom with wire). I dont put her in any of my squirrel outdoor encloseures because Im scared she'll climb up and fall back down to the ground. My cages are only 8 ft tall, but she cant catch herside or flip to land on her feet. Im scared she'll fall head down.

I did not get to record as I had planned to do today, hopeful I can in the morning or at least have it done by this weekend.

how do I post a video in the body of my post? I'll be using my Flip to do the recording.

you may have to download to Photobucket or Youtube first..
I am soo NOT PC person...
Your baby does sound nuero...a video will help...

there are ways to keep them safe in a cage and yet still stimulated..
    lots of stuffies...
stuffies hanging from braided fleece rope...
    hammocks
    boas, hidee huts...

    I have found my sqs all like having something over the top of their cages...makes them feel secure and not vunerable...it's instinct to feel threatened from above...{hawks, crows etc}
also covering the top of cage is suggested to prevent broken limbs when they are playing/running/ jumping, legs can get caught in the wire...

I have several NRs...I feel so lucky...they are my special friends..
