there are ways to keep them safe in a cage and yet still stimulated..
lots of stuffies...
stuffies hanging from braided fleece rope...
hammocks
boas, hidee huts...
I have found my sqs all like having something over the top of their cages...makes them feel secure and not vunerable...it's instinct to feel threatened from above...{hawks, crows etc}
also covering the top of cage is suggested to prevent broken limbs when they are playing/running/ jumping, legs can get caught in the wire...
I have several NRs...I feel so lucky...they are my special friends..
