Have you tried to wash any of it off?? You could try using some dawn dish detergent and warm water. I will try to direct some expert attention to this thread.

OH NO. This needs to be done now.
She needs help. Remember this is a little red, they
are a lot smaller than greys and this is serious.
Can anyone get to your house and help her?

I'm still looking at old posts I'm not sure what the next step is.
I wonder if activated charcoal would help?
I know this squirrel needed to go to the vet, but I'm still reading.

I found this from a old thread about revolution where the squirrel had an allergic reaction.

This means that he should probably be on benadryl for at least another couple days.

Again this is based on the assumption that this is an allergy reaction to Selamectin.

In the meantime, continue to slowly hydrate him. Slow and steady, dont let him drink too much too fast.

I was thinking about the activated charcoal too. I had to order mine of Amazon, because I couldn't find any around here ( living out in the sticks) and now I always make sure to have it on hand.

I would try to push fluids as soon as you get home if you can't get her to a vet and don't have any activated charcoal. I'll be praying she's ok.

Ok..it's been 3 hours since she got it. She's acting completely her usual self. I washed her down with water and dawn soap and she took 10mL of honey water in a syringe...

Ok, wonderful! I'm so glad she is acting normal and took some extra fluids! Do you have any watermelon or grapes, something to maybe get a little extra fluid in her in case? I'm not sure if there can be a delayed reaction to revolution or not, but much better to be safe then sorry.
Also, is there any redness where you applied the revolution? I'm just thinking of possible allergic reactions on her skin with so much applied.

I found this, but no mention of how soon these symptoms can manifest themselves - but just some symptoms to look for with her:

One more thing - PLEASE keep in mind there can be delayed reactions as topical meds do take time to be absorbed into the blood stream. I don't know if you have to go back to work, but if so, do you have someone that can go and check on her every so often? She received such a high dose and I would continue to monitor her.

I work an hour away and am heading back now. My boyfriend will check on her in a few hours and I'll be home in 6 hours and then I'll stay with her

anicol, I think you're OK here. While I certainly can't make any guarantees, I do not believe this is a fatal dose of Revolution (selamectin). Selamectin is a neurotoxin BUT selamectin does not cross the blood brain barrier in a normal animal so it usually is not toxic in 'normal' animals. There are certain breeds of collies that have a genetically induced defect that allows the selamectin to cross the blood brain barrier into the brain where it is toxic. Any traumatic injury (as in a neurologically compromised animal) that would cause this barrier to be breeched could cause the selamectin to enter the brain where the toxic effects would be manifested.

If you look at the pic of your kitten Revolution you will see that the entire volume in the tube is 0.25ml or 15mg of Selamectin. 0.25ml is approximately 5 drops. The usual dose for a squirrel is 1-2 drops so basically you have given a dose that is a little more than twice the usual maximum dose.
Here is an excellent publication about selamectin overdose.

    http://parasitipedia.net/index.php?o...71&Itemid=2948
You will notice that the LD50 (Lethal Dose 50) dose for rats and mice is >1600 mg/ml. This means that at 1600 mg/kg half of the animals would die. It also means that at this huge dose half would live.

If you gave the entire vial, it would be 15mg which IMO is extremely small compared to the LD50.

As you can see there is no antidote so supportive care is all that can be done.
I would monitor her and give hydration but I really do think she will be OK.
Of course, I can't guarantee that.

Thank you everyone on TSB! Don't know what I'd do without you guys. It's now been 12 hours since the dose and Susie is still acting/playing/eating/drinking and eliminating normally. I'm still going to set my alarm and check on her every 2 hours but I think and hope we are going to be ok...
