    just walked in..
    have NOT read thread..
    thank you to the PMer's...
I have barely read first post..
do we have a weight in grams?
can we get one if not?
    otherwise a pic will help..

amoxicillan is the only AB on hand??
you will need yogurt or probotics, THIS AB is going to bust his belly to helll and back...it may cause diarhhea...but we need the bad bacteria dead...
    what is the expiration date...?
I need all label info on meds please..
I can help with dosing if needed.

clicking will be with every breath...
no formula, switch to pedialyte, go slow head up tail down...very slow.
will absolutely need additional heat reguardless of age or appearance.
heating pad on low ..half under container..you should only be able to feel fist sizede warm spot...barely warm, never hot. Othgerwise place towel between container and heating pad...
don't mean to sound gruff...putting away groceries.. sorry bout that.

I don't know what the box I have him in is called. It's not cardboard. Its like those boxes that you store stuff in.
I don't want somebody else to take the squirrel. I'm going to take him to the vet in a couple hours. I'm just not sure my vet will know what to do.

Just to be sure, I did a little research on the laws in Illinois about having baby squirrels. It's apparently illegal unless you have a license. What this means is that if you take the squirrel to the vet, he will most likely be required to turn it over to a wildlife organization.

Obviously, you don't want that to happen, so I just wanted to make sure you were aware.

I am not sure what to tell you to do, but I do remember that there is a human equivalent to enrofloxacin (Baytril) that maybe you can get a hold of. I'll research that aspect for you and let you know what I find.

by the way, yesterday at the vet i told them i had a squirrel. I asked for a syringe for him. I don't think my vet would take him away if I asked for the antibiotics

Oh crap! I gave my squirrels the correct one, but I think I got it confused with the goat's milk recipe when I typed it out! I'm so sorry! I have saved the recipes on my desktop, I won't give out the wrong one again!

I'm going to pull the pregnancy frazzled brain card on this one.

Could you call your vet and ask for the Baytril and then go get it right away?

If not, we can start with the Amoxicillan with a loading dose and then change to the Baytril as soon as you are able to get it from the vet.

I am going to bow out so that the thread is not filled with "extra" stuff. You are in VERY good hands with Jackie & Pierre & gs1. They know MUCH more than me.

Keep refreshing your screen so you can see the newest posts right away.

Keep calm & Good Luck with the little one!!

That's a lot of it, 1 quart of water. How long does that last? My pedalyte says 48 hours so i can't give it to him anymore. I'm making that now, but he only drinks like 1cc, so why make so much?

dawgy how long has he been on pedialyte? this is important.

this recipe is easiest to make at this volume... and there's little cost ... that's the only reason i can guess to make so much of it....

    Silvana..
